Pakistan veteran Sidra Amin has been among the big winners following the latest update to the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.
Sidra is the leading run scorer through the first two games of Pakistan’s ODI series against Sri Lanka as part of the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship, with the right-hander showcasing her class when scoring her seventh ODI century during the second match of the series in Hambantota.
It saw the 34-year-old overtake India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and rise one place to ninth overall in the latest update to the rankings for ODI batters, while teammate Gull Feroza (up 18 spots to 54th) is another big mover on the same list.
It was Sri Lanka that claimed that second match of the series as they successfully chased down Pakistan’s total of 273/5 with 19 deliveries remaining and a host of their batters were rewarded via the latest rankings update.
Vishmi Gunarathne top-scored in that run chase with a superb 123 and shot up 16 places to 39th on the latest list for ODI batters, while teammates Harshita Samarawickrama (up three slots to 17th), Nilakshika Silva (up two rungs to 24th) and Kavisha Dilhari (up five spots to 38th) also made ground.
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has made contributions with both bat and ball across the series and rises three spots on the rankings for ODI bowlers as a result and jumps one rung to eighth on the list for ODI all-rounders.
Dilhari joins her skipper in making gains in both of these categories too as she is boosted with a nine-spot jump to equal 36th for ODI bowlers, while also rising two places to 14th for ODI all-rounders.
A pair of Pakistan spinners are also rewarded on the ODI bowler rankings, with Umm-e-Hani rising 11 slots to 53rd as teammate Syeda Aroob Shah gains 11 rungs to improve to equal 63rd.
