Justin Bieber ‘in talks’ for World Cup Final half-time show in New York

The Fifa World Cup final is reportedly looking to level up its already stacked lineup of halftime show performers with yet another chart-topping pop superstar.

In May, it was announced that Madonna, Shakira and K-pop group BTS will headline the inaugural halftime show of the final game on July 19 at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who curated the landmark performance, revealed the headliners via a social media video featuring characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

Madonna and Shakira are no strangers to major halftime performances, with the former having headlined the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show and the latter having co-headlined the 2020 edition with Jennifer Lopez.

Shakira, a four-time World Cup performer, also delivered a showstopping performance at the 2026 opening ceremony celebrations in Mexico City alongside Burna Boy.

Now, TMZ has reported that Justin Bieber is in active talks to join the lineup.

The Independent has contacted Fifa and Bieber’s representative for comment.

The “Forever” singer, 32, and his wife, Hailey, recently attended the World Cup opening ceremony June 12 at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium. He was even filmed giving a private performance for VIP guests, performing songs from his 2025 Swag album, including “Yukon.”

Bieber’s appearance would come months after his return to live performances following a four-year hiatus to prioritize his health. In April, he delivered a divisive, stripped-back Coachella set, running through some of his old hits, including “Baby,” “Never Say Never,” and “Beauty and the Beat.”
