Rafael Nadal revels in star-studded match with Jannik Sinner, Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois in Madrid – ‘I can’t ask for much more’

Nadal and Sinner partnered with the Real Madrid stars at the iconic Bernabeu, which has been transformed into a clay tennis court as part of a series of activities linked to the Madrid Open.
Nadal, a Real Madrid supporter, took part in the star-studded hit, having previously won the Masters 1000 event on five occasions.
”I’m happy. Life’s treating me well at the moment”, Nadal told the organisers in an interview. ”I can’t ask for much more.

Being here for a few lovely days with my family and colleagues experiencing this moment, which I think is historical.
”I hope the tournament is a great success over the next two weeks as well.”

The 22-time Grand Slam winner added on X: “Thank you, @MutuaMadridOpen and @realmadrid. It has been very special to enjoy this unique court at the Bernabéu.”
Sinner, the tournament’s top seed, was being put through his paces ahead of his tournament opener against Benjamin Bonzi.
The Italian is looking to become the first player in series history to win five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 titles.
His chances were boosted by the absence of Novak Djokovic and his great rival Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew from the tournament for the second year in a row after sustaining a right wrist injury at the Barcelona Open.

”It’s a very tough thing for the tournament,” said Sinner. ”Last year he didn’t play, so twice in a row is tough.
”And also Novak [Djokovic] is not here, it’s tough to swallow for the tournament.
”It is always different when Carlos and Novak are not in the draw. I would say [this situation is] unique because we have shared since last year a lot of tournaments.”
On the prospect of winning his first title in Madrid, Sinner said: ”I always go, and it will always be: We go day by day. We have tough challenges in front of me, starting from the first day.”
