Kamil Mishara scored his career best first class knock of unbeaten 187 in 192 balls as NCC made 431 all out in their first innings while Colts CC made 280 for 6 wickets at close of the second day with experienced Dinesh Chandimal hitting 144 in 177 balls in their Major Club 3 day super eight cricket fixture played at Pallekele Stadium yesterday .
Colts CC still trailed by 151 runs to get first innings points but NCC fought back strongly to get first innings lead in their last game of the tournament. Earlier NCC top order batter Kamil Mishara once again came to the fore to make his best innings of the tournament with unbeaten 187 including 14 fours and 4 sixes unfortunately missed his double century as no supporter from the other end. Dinesh Chandimal who is in top form scored his 38th first class century (144 with 13 fours and a six) which was his third ton of the tournament. Meanwhile Police SC leg spinner Dilum Sudeera once again among the wickets taking 5 for 139 in his 38 over spell as Ace Capital made 310 in replay to Police SC’s first innings total of 286. At close Police SC were 30 for 3 wickets leading by 6 runs and Ace Capital leg spinner Wanuja Sahan took 2 for 11 in his 5.4 over spell.Pavan Ratnayake struck superb knock of 221 in 216 balls as CCC made massive first innings total of 561 all out while Moors SC were 108 for 2 wickets at close in their match played at R.Premadasa Stadium.
Pavan hit 18 fours and 7 sixes for his 221 was well supported by number 9 batter Chamindu Wijesinghe who scored 65 in 141 balls and the pair added 200 runs eight wicket stand to pile up 561 total in their first innings.
Meanwhile left hander Promod Maduwantha hit fine knock of 166 in 281 balls as BRC posed challenging total of 475 while Bloomfield were struggling at 129 for 4 wickets at close in their game played at Galle Stadium. Raminda Wijesuriya (77) , Risira Weerasuriya (58) and 19 year old Chamika Heenatigala (65) hit half centuries for BRC .
