Kandy 253/4 in reply to Colombo’s 434/9 dcl. on Sharujan Shanmuganathan’s brilliant 145

Kandy were 253 for 4 wickets in reply to Colombo’s mammoth 434 for 9 wickets declared at stumps on the second day of their Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League 4-day Tournament match played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Sohan de Livera, unbeaten on 92 off 137 balls inclusive of 7 boundaries and a six, carried Kandy’s hopes of salvaging the game still trailing Colombo by 181 with 6 wickets intact.
The game saw young batting prodigy Sharujan Shanmuganathan who has been among the runs for Sri Lanka at the youth level mark his arrival for big time recognition by the national selectors by a career best 145 off 338 balls with 10 boundaries and a six.
