uly.31 (Mirror Sports) – Jaffna Kings continued their impressive run in the Lanka Premier League 2026 with a commanding 21-run victory over Kandy Royals at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, securing their third consecutive win.
A blistering batting display laid the platform for the Kings, who posted a daunting 221 for 6. Kamil Mishara’s explosive 49 and Chamindu Wickramasinghe’s late assault of 43 off just 15 deliveries powered the innings, while Avishka Fernando contributed a valuable 36. Wanindu Hasaranga and Moeen Ali claimed two wickets each for Kandy.
The Royals responded positively, with young opener Pawan Sandesh smashing a rapid 48 off just 21 balls to keep the chase alive. However, the required run rate continued to climb before Dunith Wellalage turned the game decisively in Jaffna’s favour with a superb spell of 3 for 11. Shakib Al Hasan and Dilshan Madushanka provided excellent support with the ball as Kandy were restricted to 200, sealing another convincing victory for the Kings.
