India vs South Africa, Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Highlights: Harmanpreet Kaur’s India were off to a dream start while defending a target of 159 against South Africa in Match 18 of the Women’s T20 World Cup at Old Trafford but Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits flipped the tables on them after the powerplay. South Africa were 25/2 at the end of the powerplay, losing both wickets in the sixth over. However, Kapp and Brits then ensured they didn’t lose another wicket for nearly the next 10 overs.
In the process, the pair put on a stand of 97 in 63 balls before Brits fell to Shafali Verma. Shree Charani then dismissed Nadine de Klerk but Kapp continued on her own merry way. She finished unbeaten on 81 in 45 balls as South Africa beat India by six wickets.
Before Kapp and Brits’ stand knocked the wind out of the Indian sails, their tactic of peppering the South Africans with spinners had worked wonders, with the latter finishing with a paltry score of 25 runs for the loss of two wickets at the end of the powerplay. Shree Charani was the standout for India by some distance, ending the powerplay with a double-wicket maiden sixth over. She had figures of 2/2 in 2 overs at the end of the powerplay.
