The final rites of veteran singer and actor Priyankara Perera will be held tomorrow (September 3), according to his family.
His remains will be brought to a private funeral parlour in Borella this afternoon (02), where they will be kept for the public and well-wishers to pay their final respects.
Perera, who had been suffering from an illness for some time, passed away last night while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital. He was 64.
The son of renowned singer J.A. Milton Perera, Priyankara Perera was a popular singer who performed numerous well-known songs and also made his mark as an actor.
He appeared in several films and television dramas, contributing to Sri Lanka’s entertainment industry through both music and acting.
