Chamindu is expected to play primarily as a batter in Sri Lanka’s upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, starting October 9, as he is still awaiting clearance for his bowling action.
With Janith Liyanage missing from the squad, Sri Lanka could fancy giving Chamindu a role in the middle and lower order, particularly as a potential T20 finisher.
It could be a big opportunity for the youngster to show what he can do under pressure.
