An Alabama country star will co-host the upcoming CMA fest concert broadcast.
The Country Music Association and ABC announced Wednesday that Riley Green, who is from Jacksonville, will co-host the event with Lara Spencer of “Good Morning America.”
The CMA Fest presented by SoFi takes place June 4-7 in Nashville. In addition to his duties as host, Green is among the performers; he’s part of an Alabama contingent that includes Ella Langley, Hannah McFarland and the Red Clay Strays.
Performances will be compiled into a three-hour special that will air on ABC at 7 p.m. Central time on Thursday, June 25. It will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
Green has more TV work ahead of him. He’s been featured in the CBS show “Marshals,” a “Yellowstone” spin-off, and this fall he will join Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Adam Levine as a coach on “The Voice.”
Green recently told E! News that Clarkson has been “talking trash” about the competitive side of the show, but that he hasn’t really gotten to know his fellow coaches yet.
“I love that we’re gonna all kind of meet each other and build that rapport in real time when we’re doing the show,” he said. “It’ll be real when we start filming.”
