Cricket at the Asian Games 2026 will be played from September 17 to October 3 at the Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi, Japan.
Both the men’s and women’s competitions will be played in the T20 cricket format. The women’s tournament will begin on September 17 and conclude with the medal matches on September 22.
The men’s cricket competition at the Asian Games will get underway on September 24, with the bronze and gold medal matches scheduled for October 3.
Defending champions India will compete in both tournaments after winning the men’s and women’s gold medals at Hangzhou 2023.
The Indian women’s cricket team will begin its title defence against hosts Japan in the quarter-finals on September 18. The eight-team women’s competition will be a straight knockout tournament, starting with four quarter-finals.
Bangladesh will face the People’s Republic of China in the opening match on September 17, followed by Pakistan vs Thailand. Sri Lanka will take on Malaysia in the third quarter-final before India meet Japan.
The women’s semi-finals will be played on September 20, with the bronze medal match and final scheduled two days later.
The men’s competition will feature 10 teams. Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal have been placed in Group A, while Hong Kong China, Malaysia and Oman make up Group B.
The top two teams from each preliminary group will progress to the quarter-finals, where they will be joined by four seeded teams – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
India will begin their campaign against the Group A runners-up in the quarter-finals on September 28. Pakistan will face the Group B runners-up earlier the same day.
Sri Lanka will meet the Group A winners on September 29, while Bangladesh will play the Group B winners in the final quarter-final. The men’s semi-finals are scheduled for October 1.
