Famous model Chulapadmendra Kumarapathirana was found dead under suspicious circumstances on a bed inside a residence belonging to a businessman in Wewala, Piliyandala, police stated.
Initial police investigations revealed that she arrived at the house with the businessman early this morning (31) following an event she organised at a hotel in Battaramulla.
Upon noticing her lying face down on the bed, unresponsive, when he attempted to wake her, the businessman contacted the 1990 Suwa Seriya ambulance service. Emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed her death, after which the businessman lodged a complaint with the Piliyandala Police, according to the local reporter.
A magistrate’s inquest is scheduled to take place regarding the suspicious death, the reporter added.
