Rain spoilt India’s win against Bangladesh at Navi Mumbai yesterday

The rains prevailed in India vs Bangladesh women's world cup match

Before we dive into the havoc caused in another game being called off, this time at Navi Mumbai, let’s pay tribute to Bangladesh because, by far, they are the most improved team , playing having relatively a young team , hence they will be a threat to most countries, because the youngsters look very focused.

Sri Lanka and New Zealand missed out because these to teams carried excess baggage with old cronies being a stumbling block.

Bangladesh comprehensively beat Pakistan, should have beaten England, but the third umpire made an appaling decision to steal them from upsetting the English apple cart. They should have beaten South Africa, but catching let them down. Australia was a big bully against them , far too superior in all three diceiplines.

New Zealand looked themselves only against Bangladesh to win comprehensively, Sri Lanka won because Bangladesh lacked the firepower in the middle order , and during the power play overs ,they turtle in their approach hence Sri Lanka managed to defend a score as low as 213.

Bangladesh as a team has talent, but their biggest problem is fielding both ground and catching and the lack of power hitting batters .

Sadly, yesterday , against India, the game was abandoned. It is a blessing for Bangladesh.

Put into bat in a rain reduced game of 27 overs, they ended on 119 for 9 wickets.

India, with a DLS equation of 126 as a target, reached 57 for no loss in 8.4 overs before rain closed the doors.

Even in this game , skipper Nigra Sultana the keeper dropped both Smriti Mandhana and makeshift opener Amonjot Kaur.

Look forward to the first semi-finals between South Africa and England on Wednesday, followed by India vs. Australia on Thursday.

We hope that WIPL. Will give an opportunity to players from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Zimbabwe in their franchise. Sadly, Pakistan Women are victims of the nasty heads of politics.

If you look at
Women’s Cricket , Australia, India , England, and South Africa to a great extent. Even New Zealand is in a different league whilst Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe seem poor relations, not being invited for the party.
