India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted history at Perth Stadium on Day 3 of the first Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 opener. Jaiswal became the third Indian batter to score a century in his first Test on Australian soil. He joined the elite list of Indian batters including Sunil Gavaskar to score a Test century in their first Test in Australia. Motganhalli Jaisimha was the first to do it with a 101-run knock in Brisbane during 1967-68 tour.

Jaiswal reached his century in style with a maximum off Josh Hazlewood. He played an uppercut in the 62nd over of the innings to reach three figures. The left-handed batter took 205 balls to reach the milestone.
