Was Dancing with the Stars’ Wicked Night Elimination Spoiled Weeks Ago? Untangling the Theory

Scott Hoying’s busy schedule may not have left much room to compete for a Mirrorball Trophy.

After Dancing With the Stars’ Wicked week, the Pentatonix singer and his pro partner Rylee Arnold were eliminated from the ABC competition series Oct. 21.

And while many viewers were stunned to see the fan-favorites sent home, one social media user pointed out a major hint that the pair’s time in the ballroom would inevitably be cut short.

In a video posted on TikTok Oct. 21, the user shared a screenshot of a Google search indicating that the acapella group’s Christmas In the City Tour kicks off Nov. 8, leading to the presumption that Scott would be eliminated from DWTS in time to prepare for the cross-country trek.

“Me knowing Scott was going home,” the user wrote on the clip in onscreen text. “Pentatonix’s tour starts in 2 weeks.”

Besides his upcoming tour, Scott is bound to have his hands full with another major project. During DWTS’ Oct. 14 episode, the 34-year-old and his husband Mark Manio Hoying shared that they’re expanding their family.

“We have one more piece of news for you: We’re having a baby,” Mark, 34, told Rylee in a video package before Scott’s performance. “Our surrogate is pregnant!”

And while Scott said it’s “crazy to say out loud,” he highlighted that having the perfect partner in Mark made fatherhood even more thrilling.

“I’m so excited to start a family with him,” Scott gushed. “I just feel like we’re really, really lucky.”
