Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma delighted fans when they made their first public appearance as a family with their children, Vamika and Akaay.
The family of 4 was spotted visiting Premanand Ji Maharaj’s ashram, videos of which have now gone viral online. In the clip shared on social media, the couple is seen arriving at the ashram and bowing before the priest. Both dressed in winter gear, the two took their seats after which, their kids Akaay and Vamika joined them.
The visit showcased the family in a rare public moment, as Virat and Anushka have consistently maintained a low profile when it comes to their children, shielding them from the limelight. The video that has been widely shared on social media sees Vamika and Akaay’s faces blurred out.
Premanand Ji Maharaj is known for his teachings and spiritual guidance, and according to reports, Anushka’s family has been long-time disciples. The actress has visited the ashram multiple times, often bringing Kohli along. This visit marked the couple’s second time seeking guidance from the spiritual leader, with their first visit taking place in January 2023.
In the video, the Swami is seen offering his blessings and sharing some words of wisdom, advising the couple to remain disciplined in their efforts. During the interaction, Anushka recounted a previous visit when she had questions in mind but felt they were answered indirectly through the sermons. “It felt like I was speaking with you within my own head,” she said. She concluded by requesting the guru to bless them with prem-bhakti (divine love).
Swami Premanand praised the couple’s influence, stating that while he brings happiness to a limited audience through his teachings, they bring joy to the entire nation through their contributions. “This, too, is a form of service,” he said, acknowledging their impact on millions.
He added that consistent practice and a favourable destiny are key to achieving success.
The couple’s spiritual journey has often made headlines. The two, who were in London over the summer, were spotted attending the kirtan by Krishna Das. While at first their appearance surprised fans, their spottings at the Kirtan became frequent over the following months.
