Openers Lahiru Udara (70) and Vinuka Ranasinghe (76) shared a solid 115-run partnership as NCC finished the first day at 311 for 8 against Ace Capital CC at SSC grounds yesterday.
Udara scored 70 off 84 balls with 12 fours, while Ranasinghe contributed 76 off 144 balls with 11 fours. Kamil Mishara added 37 (71 balls, 3 fours, 1 six) and Chamika Karunaratne scored 52 (56 balls, 5 fours, 1 six) to push NCC past the 300-run mark. For Ace Capital CC, leg-spinner Wanuja Sahan and off-spinner Rohan Jayatissa took three wickets each.
At NCC grounds, Chilaw Marians CC were all out for 203, while Nugegoda SC closed at 90 for 3 wickets.
The Bloomfield vs. CCC match at Galle International Stadium was rain-affected, with only 43 overs bowled. CCC were 156 for 4, led by opener Nishan Madushka, who was unbeaten on 75 off 124 balls with 8 fours.
At Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Police SC posted 317 all out, with Dulash Udayanga top-scoring with 94. Colts CC, in reply, were 6 without loss at close. Police’s innings saw a standout performance from Colts CC paceman Kavishka Anjula, who took 5 wickets for 70.
