The American will forever have his place in the sport’s history for his excellent serve and volley play, special rivalries and fiery personality.
65, ended his career with seven Grand Slam titles and he is the only player to have won more than 70 titles in both singles and doubles.

But here achievement in particular that goes under the radar which Andy Roddick thinks will continue to stand the test of time.

Which John McEnroe record does Andy Roddick think will never be broken?
McEnroe holds several records such as going 11 successive matches victories without losing a set. This is a record he shares with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
However, there is one mentioned by Roddick on his ‘Served’ podcast that he thinks no player will be able to match.

In 1984, McEnroe lost just three of his 85 matches that season with a win percentage of 96.5%, the best single-season men’s record in the Open era.
“There is one that hasn’t been broken, I don’t think it will be broken. The all time win percentage on the men’s tour for a single season” Roddick said.

“If we talk through the best years of all time, you have Roger 2005, 2006, Novak 2011 and 2015 and Rocket Rod Laver obviously won the Grand Slam, but nobody has ever had a higher win percentage than this man to my left [McEnroe] in 1984, when he went 82-3 over the course of an entire season.”
