The dead rubber between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals ends in favour of Rajasthan Royals

It was honestly a dull evening at the Arun Jatley Stadium in Delhi yesterday as two talented teams, namely Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, only played for pride .

CSK has won only three matches this season and had another disappointing outing as Rajasthan Royals beat them in 17.1 overs, chasing a target of 188.

For the winners, Jaiswal made 36, but could have spent more time at the wickets based on the situation and taking into consideration the value of match practice.

Suriyavanshie made 57 , and this 14 year old is talented, but management of his career is important . Sanju Samson 41 , and Juriel, the middle order finisher, looked good for his 31.
CSK bowlers were not impressive. Ashwin claimed 3 wickets for 41 , but the rest, including Noor Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana, looked tired with a lack of intent.

CSK must nurture young sensation Ayush Mithra he made 43 , Dewald Brewis looks a great prospect for Chennai Super Kings even at the next auction, valuable 42 , whilst Shivem Dube contributed with 38.Rest of the batters had an ordinary outing.

Sadly, there seems to be a missing link in Chennai Super Kings selection for 2025 , and it’s high time they look for young blood , with guidance from MS and Jadeja, and hopefully revamp the bowling cordon.
