Sulesh Mendis and Raveen Sanju Peiris have done Sri Lanka proud by winning their respective events at an international powerlifting championship recently.
Sulesh is the son of Dr. Anthony Mendis who is overall in charge of the ICUs of the Colombo National Hospital.
It is of interest that both father and son as well as Raveen Sanju hailing from Moratuwa are products of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa.
Both champions were extensively featured on Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation:s Commercial Service.
