Former NFL star Shannon Sharpe recently shared his thoughts on Tom Brady’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen, emphasizing that financial success alone isn’t enough to sustain a marriage.
Speaking on his Club Shay Shay podcast on March 14, 2025, Sharpe pointed out that despite Brady’s reported $300 million fortune, his marriage still ended.
Sharpe suggested that Brady may have underestimated what his wife truly needed in their relationship.
“I think the thing is, with Tom, he’s probably thinking, ‘I got all this money, why does she need to do that?’ No, he’s got all this money, and he still couldn’t keep his ex happy,” Sharpe said.
His co-host, Andrew, chimed in.
“Oh yeah, ’cause they don’t want money.”
Sharpe then speculated that Bündchen may have desired more emotional connection rather than financial security.
“Maybe she wanted time. Maybe she wanted attention. I don’t know what she wanted. Tom seems to be happy,” he continued.
“He’s moved on. Clearly, she’s moved on. But I think in the back of his mind, he’s like, ‘This was probably going on right in front of my face.'”
Brady and Bündchen finalized their divorce in 2022 after 13 years of marriage. Since then, both have moved forward with their lives. Brady has focused on his broadcasting career, while Bündchen has built a new life with her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente.
Earlier this year, Bündchen and Valente welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. The former supermodel was recently spotted in Miami with her newborn, marking her first public appearance since giving birth. She also continues to co-parent her two children with Brady-15-year-old Benjamin and 12-year-old Vivian.
