Rennae Stubbs is getting annoyed by what Aryna Sabalenka keeps doing after losing in finals, ‘it’s not funny’

Ostapenko was full of praise for Sabalenka after their final in Stuttgart, in which the Latvian beat the Belarusian 6-4, 6-1.

Sabalenka’s logic was highlighted by Iga Swiatek ahead of the final, but the WTA number one suffered a shock defeat to Ostapenko.

She was the top seed at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, and entered the tournament on the back of a Miami Open title.

But Sabalenka failed to get going against Ostapenko, who just clinched her first title of the season and the ninth of her career.

Rennae Stubbs criticises Aryna Sabalenka’s post-match speeches

Both players were respectful of one another immediately after the match, but former professional Rennae Stubbs has taken exception to a common post-match theme from Sabalenka.

“One thing I am getting a little bit tired of with Aryna, and listen we all love the histrionics and the crazy in the speeches, but I am really tired of her going after her team when she loses with sarcasm,” she said on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast.

“I’m over it. When she loses it’s just like at this point, alright, stop telling your team hey guys great job today every time. It has gotten stale.

“So we have got to up that. Got to thank your team or not, and stop giving them s—. Because it’s so passive aggressive and a little annoying. And then she tries to laugh and it’s like it’s not funny.”
