President invites Vietnam conglomerate and EV maker Vingroup to invest in Sri Lanka

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has invited top Vietnam conglomerate Vingroup to invest in the island during a meeting in Hanoi, a government statement said.

Vingroup has interest in manufacturing, real estate and its latest venture is Vinfast electric vehicles and the Xanh SM taxi service using the EVs.

“While congratulating the Vingroup for their achievements and for building a diversified global brand, President Disanayake invited Vingroup to consider investing in Sri Lanka’s real estate and tourism sectors,” a statement from President Dissanayake’s office said.

“He further emphasized that Sri Lanka is pleased to facilitate the creation of a smooth and enabling environment for their investments.”
