“Not Joe Root or Virat Kohli”: Kevin Pietersen names struggling batter as his favourite

Former player Kevin Pietersen has been vocal about his likes and dislikes. The veteran has often supported Virat Kohli and recently called him one of the biggest ambassadors of Test cricket. Kohli, who couldn’t set the stage on fire in Australia, found a supporter in KP. Meanwhile, the legendary cricketer was involved in a Q&A session with his fans on X.

Pietersen was asked to name his favourite cricketer at the moment. He didn’t go with Joe Root or Kohli but gave his vote to Harry Brook. However, he mocked the young batter for his smog comment.

Brook had blamed smog for the failure of the English batters in the first T20I between India and England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He mentioned that it was not easy to face the spinners due to poor visibility and hoped for better conditions in Chennai.

His excuse back-fired as he was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy in the second game, leading to massive flak. Harry was trolled by Ravi Shastri, Aakash Chopra, Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle and fans. Even Varun gave him a stare after claiming his scalp.

India defeated England by 2 wickets in the Chennai contest to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Brook’s below-par performance has put England on the back foot.
