A striking feature of Shammi Silva’s tenures of office heading cricket in the country has been his growing popularity that has come with a common touch of understanding and grasping what has to be done for cricket in Sri Lanka. That he has greatly succeeded, to put it in cricketing parlance ‘batting for Sri Lanka’ with the best of strokes to putting our cricket on the right track on the international stage is an endorsement of his immense contribution. So much so that he has been roundly accepted by the international fold of cricket that administer the game. One laurel to mention was his induction to head the Asian Cricket Council.
Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce the re-election of Mr. Shammi Silva as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2025–2027 term. He was re-elected uncontested during the ongoing 64th Annual General Meeting of the SLC. His re-election was confirmed by the Election Committee of the SLC. This marks his fourth consecutive term in office and the third time he has secured the position uncontested.
