John Abraham reveals Hrithik Roshan was his classmate in school ‘We used to go just to watch him dance’

Actor John Abraham has had a busy week after his latest film, The Diplomat, released on March 14. Post the film’s release, John appeared for an interview with Pinkvilla, where he talked about his struggles in Bollywood, releasing offbeat films like The Diplomat, and the current state of the industry. During the interview, John talked about his school days, and revealed that he was classmates with Hrithik Roshan at the Bombay Scottish School.

Reacting to an old class picture, the actor recalled Hrithik’s talents as a dancer, and said, “Hrithik is probably the best dancer you have, and even in school he was so good at breakdancing; we used to have a cultural activities period in school, and all of us used to go just to watch Hrithik dance. What a dancer he is.”

“I used to waste my time turning brown on the football field, and he would be dancing beautifully,” the actor added as he praised his Bollywood peer. Both John and Hrithik have played anti-heroes in the Dhoom film series, but they’ve never worked together. They’ve also appeared in the YRF Spy Universe films, but separately. He addressed this in the same interview, wondering what an on-screen union between his character, Jim, and Hrithik’s Kabir would look like.

Hrithik debuted with the film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai at the turn of the millennium, emerging as perhaps the biggest star of his generation. Before he made his acting debut, he worked as an assistant to his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan on the film Karan Arjun. Recalling his experiences, Hrithik wrote in a recent Instagram post, “During the shoot, a more than merry team of Shahrukh and Salman decided to leave Sariska by car and drive to Delhi promising to be back by morning. I was flabbergasted and jumped (literally) on the bonnet of the car to stop them. The call time was 6 am and I had to make sure my dad didn’t lose the day. He didn’t.”

Hrithik Roshan will be gracing the screen next with his upcoming film War 2. Meanwhile, John is promoting The Diplomat, which has made Rs 21 crore at the box office so far.
