Jannik Sinner Confirms Break Up from Anna Kalinskaya in Post-Suspension Press Conference

After serving a three-month doping ban, Sinner, 23, spoke to reporters during an Italian Open press conference on Monday, May 5, where the world No. 1 tennis player confirmed he is single.

Sinner began by saying he’s “very happy to be back” on the court and called the duration of his ban a “three very, very long months” while speaking with reporters. The tennis star said he shared “some great moments” with friends and family and spent a lot of time “practicing very hard in the gym” during his suspension.

Addressing his romantic life, Sinner said he noticed “a lot of attention” on the “off the court” parts of his life during his time away. “I was very surprised to see some pictures, which, you know, nothing serious…I’m not in a relationship. So, whoever is asking, that’s it. It’s all good.”

Sinner first confirmed his relationship with Russian tennis player Kalinskaya, 26, during the French Open in May 2024. At the time, he said, “Yes, I’m with Anna, but we keep everything very confidential. I won’t say more,” per Tennis.com.

Shortly after the confirmation, the pair were seen supporting each other at Wimbledon, and in an interview with Vanity Fair Italia in June 2024, Sinner spoke about the pressures of having a girlfriend and being at the top of his tennis game.

“Of course, it’s not easy, I travel a lot and during tournaments, I’m very focused,” Sinner told the magazine at the time. “But I think it’s a beautiful thing when you find the right love. Like for everyone,” he said. “And then, if you think about it, the best tennis players in the world all have wives and children.”
