India’s Asia Cup 2025 Squad Announcement Highlights: The Shubman Gill-dilemma surrounding the India Test captain’s Asia Cup T20 squad selection was answered on Tuesday. There were several surprise selections in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad, which was announced by BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. The squad was revealed following a meeting between BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and the selection committee. While some proven performers in the IPL were ignored, a few players with less impressive performances were selected. Shubman Gill has been named vice-captain, and Jasprit Bumrah is also part of the squad. However, there was no place for Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Iyer scored 604 runs in IPL 2025, while Jaiswal scored 559. Combined, their tally was 1,163. Rinku Singh, despite a below-par IPL season, has secured a spot in the squad. Jaiswal is among the five reserve players.
