Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, recently opened up about her children, Akash, Isha, and Anant Ambani and how they decided about their career in Reliance Group’s. In an interaction with Bloomberg’s Haslinda Amin, she highlighted how her children chose their roles in the organisation on the basis of their individual passions.
When asked about succession planning within the Ambani family, Nita Ambani highlighted the importance of allowing her children to make their own choices. She claimed that there was no imposition of roles, instead, Akash, Isha, and Anant chose the path as per their interests. “I didn’t decide. They decided,” she said.
Isha Ambani: Leader Reliance Retail
Isha Ambani, leads Reliance Retail, while talking about her Nita Ambani explained that her daughter’s role in retail was shaped from her own enthusiasm and passion for the sector. “Isha is very intuitive and sensitive,” Nita added that these qualities have made her a strong leader who understands consumer needs. “It is such a pleasure to have a daughter who shares the same values and belief system. Seeing her as a woman leader in Reliance Retail brings me so much pride,” she said.

As the eldest son, Akash Ambani heads the country’s one of biggest telecom companies, Jio. Under his leadership, Jio has revolutionized internet accessibility, and the company reached and made connectivity available to millions in India. This transformation has played a big role in the country’s digital age, which Nita Ambani credited to Akash’s vision and determination.
Anant Ambani Role In Reliance’s Green Energy
The youngest of the siblings, Anant Ambani, is more interested in environmental conservation. He leads Reliance’s Green Energy while managing an animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar. “My youngest, Anant, has always been about saving the environment and protecting wildlife.” Nita shared his commitment to sustainability and passion for making a positive impact on the environment.
Nita Ambani On Women in the Family
Nita Ambani also spoke about her commitment to gender equality within the family, how she supports her daughters and granddaughters. “My girls can do as much as my boys,” she said, adding that she continues to support them through family responsibilities or spending quality time with her grandchildren.
