Celebrities are apparently leaving Los Angeles for a slower, more grounded lifestyle. Stars are ditching red carpets in favour of real-life roots, from remote cabins in Minnesota to vast stretches of Texas land. The surprising part is that the public is not passing judgment; rather, they are cheering them on.
Why are stars leaving LA?
Celebrities like Josh Duhamel and Mark Wahlberg are trading in their Hollywood glamour for quieter, more rural lifestyles. Their actions are drawing admirers who love family, sincerity, and the simple life.
Experts feel that this represents a deeper reflection of cultural values, which is why fans are so hungry for it.
The actor Josh Duhamel made headlines last week when he disclosed that he and his family had moved out of Los Angeles to live in the middle of Minnesota’s woods, off the grid. Even though it appears to be a follow-up to his 2004 film Win a Date With Tad Hamilton, the North Dakota native claimed that being “removed from everything” and living in the Midwest has given him a sense of security, as per reports.
He said, “You really get a chance to get back to the basics,” to Parade. “All these other distractions don’t consume you. When you’re out there, the main priorities are having fun, keeping everyone warm, and ensuring they have access to food and water.
Duhamel hopes his children enjoy the change of scenery and that the house remains in the family.
It goes beyond simply having all the conveniences and comforts we have grown accustomed to. It truly comes down to family. It has to do with legacy.
How are fans reacting to this relocation?
People were captivated by the story, and many commenters shared their own experiences of “remote” living and offered support.
“Enjoy it; put your family first! As good as ever, he is working on a new project. He thus maintains a healthy balance between his career and his wife and children. “That’s a real man,” someone commented.
“Well done! He is capable of making this choice with sound judgment.
Duhamel is not the only well-known figure to decide to live somewhere other than Hollywood. Mark Wahlberg moved to Nevada with his family. Glen Powell relocated to Texas once more. In 2020, James Van Der Beek moved to the Lone Star State with his family. The list is non-exhaustive.
Every time a celebrity departs Los Angeles, it makes national news and is generally warmly received. We are unable to avoid these stories for a number of reasons.
Does this make celebrities more relatable?
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Erin Meyers, a professor of communication at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, believes that a celebrity’s residence can affect how authentic they are perceived by the public. particularly if that celebrity is returning home.
“Seeing people moving out of Hollywood and return home shows that you’re still who you always were on the inside, even as you have achieved this great fame and fortune,” Meyers explains, “and that’s a story that we have loved from celebrities since the beginning of celebrity.”
Joel Penney, an associate professor at Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media in New Jersey, notes that the “elitist” image Hollywood can have may also contribute to the perception.
“Hollywood is seen as pretentious, whereas the countryside relates to this idea of authenticity and relatability,” he told Yahoo.
