There has been a constant flow of people filing in and out of the Chapel of the Resurrection in Gondomar today, taking turns to pay their respects to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.
The brothers died in a car crash in Spain yesterday. Officials say their car went off the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle.
The wake in their hometown was originally private, restricted to family and friends.
By the afternoon, it had become a very public event, with crowds of mourners arriving with flowers, wreaths and handwritten messages in tow.
Meanwhile in Liverpool, a sea of floral tributes has been growing outside Anfield, with many fans looking to pay their respects.
On Saturday, a funeral will be held for the two brothers, again in Gondomar. We will be covering it live on the BBC News website – join us then.
