GO FOR GOLD Website congratulates the new Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs Sunil Kumara Gamage for the job by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake under the National People’s Power (NPP) Government to handling this demanding portfolio of competitive sports that spreads from the school cradle to the national grid and international arena where glory and fame awaits the best.
He assumed office soon after being sworn in as the 21st Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs by President Dissanayake on Monday November 18 at the Presidential Secretariat.
Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage, who was nominated to enter the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka through the NPP National List, is a qualified Chartered Accountant by profession and is a member of the NPP’s Economic Council and served as the Colombo District Chairman of the National Intellectuals Organisation. He had also served as Deputy General Manager of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
We wish him all success in tackling a portfolio that relates primarily to the country’s youth covering approximately 17 sports disciplines at a juncture Sri Lanka is striving to grow from strength to strength in the International arena.
