Glenn Maxwell broke Suryakumar Yadav’s world record in T20Is. The right-handed batter was named the Player of the Match for his knock in the first T20I against Pakistan. He amassed 43 runs off 19 balls, laced with five fours and three sixes and his runs came at a strike rate of 226.31.
He went past SKY on the list of the most top scores at a strike rate of 200+ in T20Is.
Australia defeated Pakistan by 29 runs at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. The Men in Yellow posted 93/7 in 20 overs but the visitors failed to win the contest, accumulating 64/9 in the allotted overs.
The Big Show, who had a miserable ODI series against the same opponent, returned to form in the series opener. It was a much-needed victory for the host after losing the ODI series 1-2.
