Oliver McCall made a successful return to the ring at the age of 59 as he scored a second-round stoppage over Stacy Frazier in Nashville.
Competi exng for the first time in five years, McCall, in action just days after Mike Tyson, a former sparring partner of ‘The Atomic Bull,’ fought Jake Paul, the Chicago veteran made light work of his opponent.
At the peak of his powers, McCall was a feared fighter who reigned as world heavyweight champion for a brief period in the 1990s after sensationally halting Lennox Lewis.
As well as sharing the ring with Lewis on two occasions, McCall also had the honour of stepping into the ring with other great names such as Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno, and Buster Douglas.
With the vast majority of his heyday contemporaries well into retirement, McCall is showing signs of slowing down and he’s hopeful he can secure a fight with Paul.
The popular YouTuber was victorious against Tyson and whilst most expect him to be busy in 2025, McCall is hoping he can force his way into Paul’s plans.
“Well, next fight, I’m gonna be about 10 pounds lighter so you’re gonna have a lot more technique, and I can punch. I could definitely punch,” said McCall when speaking to Boxing Scene after the fight.
My defence is pretty decent. What about if I lose about 10 more pounds, I’m ready for anybody.
“I’ll knock Jake Paul out. Bring on Jake Paul and I wanna get revenge for Nate Robinson and then Mike Tyson. That would be awesome.”
