Fatherhood is tough – Fastest man alive Usain Bolt explains why raising three children is harder than winning Olympic gold

World’s greatest sprinter in history Usain Bolt revealed that raising his three children is a harder task in comparison to winning an Olympic gold medal.

The retired track legend who has three beautiful kids with his partner Kassi Bennett, disclosed this in a 2021 exclusive interview with People magazine how harder parenting was than the Olympics.

“[It’s harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when they’re crying. It’s great, but everybody’s crying. It’s pandemonium in the house.” said the Jamaican eight-time Olympic gold medallist.

Bolt and his long-time partner Bennett welcomed their first child, daughter Olympia Lightning on May 17, 2020, and then twin boys Thunder and Saint Leo in June 2021.

However, Bolt also stated that since bringing their twins into the world, they have had help from both his parents and Bennett’s parents, saying that it helps with how “crazy” it is to have three small children.

On welcoming a set of twins: “It’s a lot more time consuming, but I enjoy it. It’s always a challenge, and now I’ve had help from my parents and my significant other’s parents also. So, it’s not as crazy, but I’m enjoying it. I’m looking forward to them just growing up and just having fun.”

When asked if he’ll allow his children to join him in his sporting legacy, the 100m and 200m world record holder said it would be a dream come true but there won’t be any pressure.

“It would be wonderful to sit in the stands and watch any one of them just to compete. That’s a high level, and even to win, it would be a dream come true. But as I said, I won’t pressure. I won’t pressure, but it would be a great experience as a dad, as an Olympian, to watch your kid as an Olympian, running with the Olympians,” he continued.

“That’s always a key thing: Just support your child in whatever they want to do. So if they don’t want to run, if they don’t want to do sports, I’m okay with it.”
