England Men’s Physically Disabled team win third game to go level at top

England Men’s Physically Disabled team beat Pakistan by 62 runs for their second win of the Physically Disabled Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka.

Wicket-keeper Hugo Hammond top scored with 43 runs to get England to 144 from their 20 overs. Before England bowled out Pakistan for 82. Jordan Williams the pick of the bowlers with 3-10 from his four overs.

England have now faced all three other teams in the Champions Trophy, beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan and coming up just short against India, who remain unbeaten.

Those results leave England in second place, level on points with India who have a game in hand.

Captain Callum Flynn said: “It was good to get a win, but there are still lots of things we need to work to improve, if we want to win the trophy. Hugo Hammond played excellently to get us up to 140 which was actually a very good score on that wicket.

“Jordan Williams set the tone with the ball, taking three for next to nothing and he was backed up by everyone else.

“We’ve played all three sides now and we know we have the skill to beat all three. It’s now about executing our skills and playing fearless but clever cricket.”

Flynn’s side are back in action on Thursday, against Sri Lanka.
