England confirm Autumn Nations Series opponents with four November Tests penciled in

England have today confirmed they will face Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina in this year’s Autumn Nations Series.

All four Tests will be played at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, and will see two rematches from the 2024 edition when England square off against the All Blacks and Wallabies.

Steve Borthwick’s side kick off their Autumn campaign with a rematch against the Wallabies, who claimed a dramatic 42-37 win over England when the sides last met thanks to Max Jorgensen’s try at the death.

After that, they then take on Fiji, who they last faced in the 2023 World Cup quarter-final. England came out the victors that day, however, Fiji did beat England 30-22 on their previous visit to the English capital just before the start of the tournament in France.

The All Blacks then lie in wait for England after that, who again came away with the spoils on their last trip as they beat Borthwick’s side 24-22. Scott Robertson’s side also beat England twice on the summer tour.

Rounding off their campaign, England face Argentina. England beat Argentina twice in the 2023 World Cup, once in the pool stage and later on in the Bronze Medal match, however, Los Pumas also managed to seal a 30-29 win at Twickenham on their previous visit.

Commenting on the four Test matches, England head coach Borthwick said: “We look forward to welcoming Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina to Allianz Stadium in November.”

“These four matches offer a valuable opportunity for our squad to face different styles of rugby as we continue to develop.”

He added: “The atmosphere at Allianz Stadium is always electric, and I know the players truly love every opportunity to represent our country at such a fantastic venue.”

As reported last week by the Telegraph, the confirmation of four Tests is a break from the traditional three after a Lions tour.
