Dilhani Lekamge 32nd in javelin throw

Sri Lanka’s Dilhani Lekamge finished 16th out of 16 competitors for overall 32nd place in the Women’s javelin throw Group ‘A’ Qualification round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in France on Wednesday.

The Hangzhou Asian Games Silver Medalist’s 53.66m was not good enough for her to advance to the next round.

South Africa’s Jo-An van Dyk finished on top of Group ‘A’ with 64.22m and qualified for the semi-finals.

Dilhani, who went to the Olympic Games with a personal best performance of 61.57m, however, failed to reproduce that feat.

Dilhani was the last Sri Lankan athlete to exit from the Paris Games.
