Baduraliya SC took major honours against Chilaw Marians CC in their drawn Major Club 3 day Plate cricket fixture played at Welagedada Stadium Kurunegala yesterday.
Baduraliya SC chasing a victory target of 161 were 111 for no loss at close with openers Roshan Wijenayake (57) and Dilshan de Soyza (53) making unbeaten half centuries. But they were 50 runs short of out right victory at close.
Earlier Chilaw Marians CC scored 244 with Sammu Ashan making a superb knock of 101 as they posted 206 for 5 wickets declared in their second innings with opener Thanuka Dabare hit 70 ball 85 with a four and 4 sixes . Baduraliya SC made 290 to get first innings points and Dilshan de Soyza led the attack scoring 112 with 7 fours .
Panadura SC and Tamil Union match ended in a draw at Surrey grounds Moggona while Kurunegala YCC took first innings win over Nugegoda SC in their match played at Galle Stadium. Kurunegala YCC opener Gayan Maneeshan scored superb knock.of 112 while Nugegoda SC’s Pathum Kumara hit unbeaten 121 and took batting honours.
