You like Ariana Grande’s hair? Gee, thanks, she just got it.
Indeed, the Wicked actress debuted a fresh look ahead of joining Cynthia Erivo for the sequel’s press tour, swapping out her bleach blonde look for the first time since 2022.
Alongside a mirror selfie of herself sporting the natural color, Ariana cheekily wrote in an Oct. 29 Instagram post, “It’s good to see me, isn’t it?”
The Victorious alum wasn’t the only one floored by the return to a darker shade. Her hair colorist Francesco De Chiara also couldn’t help but gush over the darker tresses, reposting the photo to his Instagram Story adding, “Here she is.”
On Ariana’s own post, Francesco added, “We’re back amore.”
Francesco also teased a fresh start for the “Positions” singer, reposting another fan reaction of Ariana’s new brunette curls that boasted, “A new chapter has begun!”
For Ariana’s part, going back to her roots may be a way to bid farewell to Glinda, as she previously said she “needed” to go blonde to play the good witch in Wicked and Wicked: For Good.
“Even though I was wearing wigs, I needed to be blonde, too,” Ariana, 32, explained to Vogue in 2024, noting that she even took the color to her eyebrows because of “a softness that Glinda has with the lighter brows.”
As she noted, “It didn’t make any sense when I had my dark brows.”
However, the “Eternal Sunshine” singer did more than just dye her hair to embody the character she had previously dreamed of one day playing. After all, she faced criticism for changing her vocal register to fully enter into Oz.
