Ahead Of Met Gala 2025, Here’s How Fashion’s Most Exclusive Guest List Is Finalized

Fashion’s biggest night, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute benefit, better known as the Met Gala, is one of the most anticipated events in the fashion calendar. From philanthropists to stars, the black tie event sees some of the biggest names in the industry grace the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in haute couture which is in line with the theme.

There is no guaranteed way to make sure that you attend the Met Gala. Every year, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, makes the guest list. She oversees and approves every single invite, whether it’s a Hollywood A-lister, fashion designer, or rising influencer. No one attends without her green light. Unlike most philanthropic events, where making a sizable donation secures entry to an event, the Met Gala isn’t so.

While Anna makes the guest list, luxury fashion houses like Chanel, Valentino, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton often purchase tables at the event (these can cost around $200K–$300K, approximately Rs 1 crore and upwards). Once they do, they usually fill those tables with celebrities they are dressing for the evening – often their muses, ambassadors, or fresh collaborators.

Some reports reveal that attendees can buy individual tickets (from $50K, approximately Rs 42 lakhs and upwards) to attend the Met Gala, but their entry is subject to approval from Anna
