CCC and Bloomfield will face off in the finals of Sri Lanka Cricket’a youth accentuated U23 Emerging Clubs 2-day tournament following Thursday’s outcomes decided on the first innings points basis after their respective semi-finals against Nugegoda W&SC and Negombo CC respectively that were affected by rain.
The much looked to finals between the two semi-final winners will be plsyed on September 23 and 24 at the SSC grounds.

CCC defeated Nugegoda W&SC by 26 runs having run up 179 and dismissing their opponent’s for 143.

A brave rearguard innings by Akram Muthalif of 69 off 97 balls hitting 6 boundaries could not save the day for Nugegoda.

CCC owed it to Sahan Kosala for his 37- ball 41 upped by 7 boundaries and a six followed by Inuka Karannagoda 22 off 39 with 2 boundaries.
Abdul Hakeem was the pick of Nugegoda’s bowlers picking 3 wickets for 59.

CCCs Duvindu Ranatunga took 3 wickets for 37 and Karannagoda 3 for 31 apiece.

CCC made 61 for 2 in the second innings with Arosha Sithumina on 30.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield defeated Negombo CC in the first innings bundled out for 116 to their score of 147 for 5 with Asitha Wanninayake scoring 69 off 132 balls with eight boundaries and one over the top.

Bloomfield’s Nisala Abeyratne had great figures of 5 wickets for 24.
