Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma worked together in the movie ‘Sultan’. During the film’s promotion in 2016, Salman made a comment about his training for the film. He said he felt like a ‘raped woman’ when he walked out of the ring. His statement was widely criticized by fans and many celebrities.
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Anushka Sharma discussed Salman’s controversial comment, describing it as insensitive and surprising. She emphasised that everyone, including celebrities, has a responsibility to be mindful of what they say, whether in public or private settings.
When asked if she considered asking Salman to apologise for his statement, Anushka replied that she didn’t know him well enough to do so. She explained that her only interaction with him was during the filming of Sultan and described him as intimidating. Anushka added that Salman is someone who stays true to himself and doesn’t go out of his way to make others feel comfortable. She mentioned that, being shy herself, she found it hard to break the ice with him, and they never had personal conversations.
Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma worked together for the first and only time in Sultan, a sports drama directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The film, which also starred Amit Sadh and Randeep Hooda, was released on Eid in 2016.
On the work front, Salman is awaiting the release of his next action film ‘Sikandar’ which will see him co-starring opposite Rashmika Mandanna. The actor dropped the film’s first teaser on Saturday, well in advance for its highly anticipated Eid 2025 release.
