Sri Lanka wins first warm up against New Zealand XI by 32 runs i

Sri Lanka won their first warm up match against a New Zealand XI by 32 runs scoring 128 for 2 wickets and confining the host team to 96 for 2 in a 10 over game at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln yesterday.

Sri Lanka batted first by mutual agreement in a 13 players a side affair with Pathum Nissanka leading the way with 31 off 15 balls hitting 5 boundaries and a six. Bhanuka Rajapaksa at No 3 scored 25 off 16 balls hitting 2 sixes and equal number of boundaries.
Other contractors were Wanindu Hasaranga 25′ off 16 with 2 sixes and equal number of boundaries and skipper Charith Asalanka 13 off 8 with six and boundary.
New Zealand XIs Matthew Boyle struck a 34 ball unbeaten 57 with 5 over the top and 2 boundaries but his effort ould not carry his side through.

Nuwan Thushara picked both wickets to fall bowling Katene Clarke for 8 and having skipper Joe Carter caught by Mahees Theekshana for 23.
