Former player Sunil Gavaskar is confident that India would not have been dismissed in 50 overs in the second innings of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane. The contest ended in a draw after the rain interruptions didn’t allow the full quote of overs on four out of five days; Australia were ahead in the game after scoring 445 runs in their first innings.
Australia were 89/7 when they declared their second innings, giving a target of 275 runs in 54 overs to the visiting team. However, the rain and bad light allowed only 2.1 overs.
When asked if India could have been dismissed in 50 overs considering the performance of the batters, Gavaskar disagreed.
