New Sports Minister in extensive talks with SLC top brass to promoting schools’ sports alongside cricket and other sports

The new Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage met up with
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) top officials led by Sri Lanka Cricket’s President Shammi Silva on Monday 16th
and held extensive talks at the Ministry on far reaching development activities on several fronts including plans to develop facilities for the further enhancement of cricket such as the sustainability of cricket stadiums, and means of leveraging cricket towards promoting tourism.

SLC Presidesnt Shammi Silva was accompanied by Vice President International Cricket Jayantha Dharmadasa, Vice President Domestic Cricket Ravin Wickramaratne, Treasurer Sujeewa Godaliyada, and CEO Ashley de Silva.

The feasibility of SLC’s support to develop other sports and promoting schools sports alongside cricket was also a key topic the forthright open minded minister discussed with the country’s cricket top brass on a cordial and fruitful note.
