“India can revolve around match-winners but Pakistan”: Shahid Afridi reacts to Men in Green’s defeat in second T20I against Australia

Australia defeated Pakistan by 13 runs in the second T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Chasing 148, the Men in Green were impacted by slow batting and reckless shot selection by top-order. Captain Mohammad Rizwan (16 off 26) and senior batter Babar Azam (3 off 3) were once again found clueless with the bat.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi reacted to the team’s defeat in the second contest. The visitors restricted the home team to 147/9 in 20 overs, with Haris Rauf (4 wickets) and Abbas Afridi ( 3 wickets) bowling exceptionally well.
Afridi reminded Pakistan about the difference between their style of batting and the template set by India in the shortest format.

“Only a couple of more small but meaningful contributions to back Haris, Usman and Irfan efforts would have taken us over the line in Sydney.India can revolve around match-winners, like they did in Joburg yesterday, but we will require even contributions from most players if not all to succeed consistently in T20Is,” he wrote on X.
