The Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to appoint Jason Gillespie as an all-format coach. He is currently coaching the Men in Green on an interim agreement due to the sudden resignation of Gary Kirsten from the post of white-ball cricket coach.
Gillespie, the coach of Pakistan’s red-ball team, was requested by the PCB to take over the responsibility for the tour of Australia, where Pakistan are playing in three ODIs, and the visitors will also compete in three T20Is.
If Pakistan manage to give an impressive performance in Australia, Gillespie’s role will get broader. “The board wants to appoint Jason Gillespie as all-format head coach instead of finding a new one for the shorter formats,” a PCB source told PTI
