India squad for West Indies T20 2026: Jasprit Bumrah rested for series, Mayank Yadav returns

Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for India’s five-match T20I series against the West Indies at home later this month, with fast bowler Mayank Yadav returning to the 15-member squad announced on Wednesday.

Bumrah is part of the Indian team for the Asian Games 2026, where the men’s cricket competition concludes on October 3. The India vs West Indies T20 series gets underway in Lucknow just three days later on October 6.

Mayank, meanwhile, returns to the India set-up after missing the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan. Prince Yadav has also been included in the pace attack, while Kuldeep Yadav returns to bolster the spin department.

Shreyas Iyer will captain India in the series, with Tilak Varma named vice-captain.

Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are among the batting options, while Shivam Dube and Nitish Kumar Reddy provide all-round depth.

Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi join Kuldeep among the spin options, while Arshdeep Singh, Mayank and Prince form the specialist pace contingent.

After the opening match in Lucknow, the second T20I will be played in Ranchi on October 9. Indore hosts the third match on October 11 before the series moves to Hyderabad on October 14 and Bengaluru for the finale on October 17.
