ICC appoints Dr Ros Rivaz as new independent director

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Dr Ros Rivaz as an Independent Director for a period of three years which can be extended for another term of three years.

Dr Rivaz currently serves as Chair of Anglian Water and UK Companies House, while also holding independent director positions at Aperam SA and Victrex plc. “Throughout her career, Dr Rivaz has been an active and engaged Board member, undertaking site visits and stakeholder interactions across government, commercial, and community sectors. Her deep understanding of governance, corporate strategy, and operational effectiveness is complemented by her commitment to diversity and inclusion, making her a strong addition to the ICC Board,” the ICC said in a statement.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah welcomed the appointment, saying Dr Rivaz’s international leadership experience and governance expertise would be valuable. “As cricket continues to expand its global footprint and pursue new opportunities both on and off the field, her strategic insight, independent perspective, and commitment to strong governance will be invaluable. We look forward to benefiting from her counsel and contributions as we continue to strengthen the foundations of the game and drive its long-term growth around the world.”

Apart from her corporate roles, Dr Rivaz has also been actively involved in community and educational initiatives. She has supported programmes aimed at encouraging young women to pursue STEM education, while also contributing to various charitable and local community projects.
